This presentation explores the logistics and operational strategies of the Royal Flying Doctor Service Western Operations (RFDS WA) in delivering critical care across Western Australia's 2.5 million square kilometres. It provides a technical and operational overview of how a specialised fleet of 17 Pilatus PC-12 turboprops, 3 Rio Tinto LifeFlight PC-24 jets, and 2 Fortescue Heli-Med EC145 helicopters is deployed daily from five aeromedical bases to serve remote communities.

About the Presenter
Robert Winchcomb began his aviation career as an Aircraft Engineering Apprentice with RFDS in Kalgoorlie. He spent nearly three decades with Pratt & Whitney Canada in technical and customer leadership roles, including PT6 Engine Customer Service Specialist and Entry Into Service Manager for the PT6 E-Series. He is an inventor of patented in-flight propeller vibration monitoring technology and later joined Pilatus Aircraft Ltd before returning to RFDS WA.
