Nuclear Medicine Technology / Science
Nuclear Medicine Technologists are responsible for initial patient interaction, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, and utilizing skills in image manipulation, physics, anatomy and physiology. They require strong communication and empathy skills and may work in laboratory environments. The profession is regulated by AHPRA in Australia and MRTB in New Zealand.
Nuclear Medicine Physicians
Doctors with specialist training in Nuclear Medicine who utilize expert skills in anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology to determine diagnoses and administer therapy doses. They are regulated by AHPRA with the Medical Board of Australia and have their own professional body.
Nuclear Medicine Physics
Specialized physicists with deep understanding of ionizing radiation and its interaction with matter. They determine radiation dosimetry implications, enhance imaging performance, and conduct quality academic research. They typically work in large tertiary hospitals, academic institutions and private companies.
Radiopharmacy
