About this session
A full 4-day blended learning course in backflow prevention combining classroom theory and hands-on practical training. The course covers NZQA unit standards 23847 and 23848, enabling participants to test and inspect water supply backflow prevention devices and prepare to apply for Independently Qualified Person (IQP) registration with their local authority.
Prerequisites
No formal prerequisites required to attend and complete testing requirements, though basic understanding of backflow devices and plumbing knowledge is helpful. Learners require sufficient English language literacy to complete course documents and assessments. Check with your local territorial authority for IQP registration prerequisites.
Assessment
Two NZQA unit standards assessed through both theory and practical testing. Participants must demonstrate competence in testing backflow devices. If competence is not demonstrated by course end, reassessment may be required at a later date, potentially with an additional fee.
