Session 1: Workplace AI in Practice
12:00pm to 1:00pm. Key legal considerations when implementing AI in the workplace, with focus on privacy obligations, discrimination risks, and transparency in automated decision-making. Practical insights into generative AI in employment disputes, evidential challenges and procedural considerations. Examination of recent case law and lessons learned.
Session 2: Privacy and Data Protection in the Workplace
1:00pm to 2:00pm. Covers proliferation of AI risks to employee and company information security. New penalty regime under Privacy Act 2020 with prospective director penalties up to $500,000 for cybersecurity failures. Practical steps to protect information, develop Data Breach Response Plans, and comply with Privacy Act 2020.
